Our practice manager is responsible for the organisational and administrative running of the practice. She is available and would be pleased to receive any comments, compliments or complaints concerning any aspect of patient’s services.

The receptionists will arrange an appointment for you to see her.

The prescription clerk will assist in the preparation of repeat prescription and deal with patient enquiries in relation to your medication;

The Prescription Clerk duties are;

  • Running off repeat prescription request
  • Collecting repeat prescription requests from the appropriate request post boxes, SystmOne on line request and fax.
  • Ensuring patient requests are due to help in minimising wastage and over using of drugs
  • To check medication review is up to date
  • Maintaining a full record of repeat prescription and storing away
  • Communicating with patients and doctor for medication queries
  • Adding new drugs to patient records initiated by the hospital consultant
  • Maintaining patient repeat prescription screen
  • Answering the telephone

Senior Receptionist and Registration Clerk

The reception staff will deal with queries in a professional and courteous way and will assist all patients and the general public with all general enquiries and be able to direct patients and the general public in the right direction.

The reception staffs will also be;

  • Booking appointments
  • Answering and forwarding phone calls
  • Dealing with registration enquiries
  • Taking messages and passing them on to the relevant team member
  • Faxing
  • Manning the reception area at all times
  • Storing, sorting and distributing post
  • Checking and accepting deliveries
  • Accepting vaccination deliveries and following “cold Chain Protocol”
  • Sorting prescriptions
  • Keeping reception and waiting area tidy


Sue Raison

The secretary deals with doctor’s and outside agencies correspondences, liaising with other health care professionals and also professionals from various backgrounds, i.e. lawyers, solicitors, cold callers etc.

Sue is able to refer patients to relevant services on the direction and dictation from the doctor or a member from secondary care.

Secretary duties also include;

  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail
  • Answering general enquires in relation to referrals, medical reports etc.
  • Providing support to the doctor’s
  • Writing letters or recording medical notes
  • Filing and typing up reports
