Appointments

All attendances at the surgery are by appointment. To make an appointment to see the doctor, telephone the surgery on 01933 233270 selecting option 1, alternatively you can come to the surgery and speak to reception who will be able to assist you.

Please make a separate appointment for each patient to ensure patient confidentiality and the practice can maintain a fire safety register in case of a fire.

To reduce the waiting time to see your doctor, please telephone the surgery from 08:00 to book a same day appointment; please note same day appointments are for acute and urgent problems and we may not always be able to offer a time that suites you.

For all routine appointments you should call the surgery preferably between 10:00 – 18:30 Mon-Fri as the lines are less busy, the phone lines are open from 08:00 – 18:30.

Appointments are booked at 10-minute intervals but we realise that some problems may take longer than others. If the surgery does not run strictly to time, please be patient. Whilst we endeavour to see you as soon as possible please be aware that if you state a preference this may result in a slightly longer wait.

A doctor or nurse will always see genuine urgent cases but you may be asked to wait, so please be patient. During urgent consultations we will not be able to discuss other ‘non-urgent’ problems. When making any appointment you may be asked the nature of the problem: this is to help us route you to the most appropriate available clinician.

Patients are asked to note that leave or other commitments may affect doctor’s availability and this table is only to be used as a guide.

Telephone Advice

Both doctors and nurses are happy to give advice on the telephone but are not usually available on demand. The doctor or nurse will ring you back when they are not consulting with patients, this will not be a guaranteed time.

Late Arrivals

If you are 5 or more minutes late, then you will not be able to be seen in that appointment slot, even if the Doctor is running late due to unforeseen circumstances.

All health care professionals work to booked appointment times, and if that time has passed, they are not able to get it back. This means if you are too late for your appointment, you will either have to wait until the end of surgery if this is possible or book another appointment.

Please note; parking around the surgery can be difficult. Please leave plenty of time to arrive for your appointment and for parking, as difficulty to park is not a valid reason for a late patient to be seen.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible. Failure to do so leads to loss of the appointment for another patient and you will receive a letter concerning this. Persistent non-attendance of appointments will be investigated and may result in de-registration.
